Based on the voting of the members of the assembly held from July 1st to July 10th, 2024, decisions were made (among other things) regarding amendments to three articles of the Association's Statute. (LINK).
Based on the voting of the members of the assembly, it was decided to make the following three amendments and additions to the Association's Statute (the amendments are underlined):
Amendment to Article 8 of the Statute:
Amendment to Article 8 of the Statute: "Members of the Association can be:
1. Regular members, those who meet the conditions set forth in Article 7 of this Statute;
2. Honorary members, who are renowned experts and have made significant contributions to the development, improvement, and/or promotion of earthquake engineering in the country and/or globally. Honorary members are elected by the Assembly based on the proposal of the Board of Directors;
3. Young members, those who are up to 35 years old;
4. Student members, those who are enrolled in undergraduate, master, and doctoral studies and are not employed."
Note: We kindly ask current student members to check if they still meet the requirements based on Article 8 of the Statute (Paragraph 4). If necessary, they should request a change in membership status by emailing suzi@suzi-saee.rs
Amendment to Article 18 (Paragraph 6) of the Statute:
“The term of the President of the Board of Directors is three years and may be re-elected to the same position.”
Note: This amendment refers to the change in the duration of the term of the President of the Board of Directors, which was previously two years. Since the term for other members of the leadership is three years, it has been proposed that the term for the President be aligned with that of the other board members.
Amendment to Article 22 (Paragraph 2) of the Statute:
“The Supervisory Board shall consist of at least three members, elected by the Assembly. Members of the Supervisory Board cannot simultaneously be members of the Board of Directors.”
Note: This amendment concerns the change in the number of members of the Supervisory Board, which was previously fixed at three members. The proposed amendment allows for a larger number of Association members to participate in the work of the Supervisory Board in the future.
