Organized by the Association of Structural Engineers of Serbia (DGKS-ASES), the 17th DGKS Symposium was held in Vrnjačka Banja from September 18 to 20, 2024. The DGKS Symposium is one of the most significant and well-attended events in the field of structural engineering in Serbia. It is held every two years and brings together researchers and professionals from the region and around the world.

On the third day of the Symposium, SUZI-SAEE, in collaboration with DGKS-ASES, organized a session dedicated to aseismic design and construction. The session was co-chaired by Prof Dr Đorđe Lađinović, honorary member of SUZI-SAEE, and Prof Dr Vladimir Vukobratović, SUZI-SAEE Board Member and Chair of the SUZI-SAEE Education Committee. During the session, SUZI-SAEE members presented five papers covering various aspects of earthquake engineering. The session was very well attended, with more than 40 participants, who actively engaged through questions and joint discussion.

We sincerely look forward to the next DGKS Symposium, to be held in 2026, and to continued collaboration with the DGKS-ASES Association.
