15.07.2018

SAEE became a member of the International Association for Earthquake Engineering ( International Association for Earthquake Engineering – IAEE ) as the national organization representing Serbia. The decision was made by a vote of the IAEE Executive Board at a meeting held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on June 18, 2018, based on an application previously submitted by the SAEE leadership to the IAEE. Reports on the activities of national organizations are submitted every four years, and membership in the IAEE is free of charge.

The IAEE (International Association for Earthquake Engineering) is a nonprofit international organization headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, founded in 1962. Currently, IAEE has 59 member countries, including Serbia. The primary goal of IAEE is to contribute to improving seismic safety worldwide. IAEE is responsible for selecting the location and organizing the World Conference on Earthquake Engineering (WCEE), held every four years. The next conference, the 17th ( 17WCEE ), is scheduled to take place in Japan in 2020. Papers published at all previous World Conferences can be searched and downloaded for free from https://www.nicee.org/wcee/ .

The IAEE compiles and updates the global list of seismic design codes, as well as other publications. The IAEE’s journal, *Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10969845, has been one of the world’s leading publications in this field for over 40 years, since 1972.
