A working group of SAEE for seismic risk and participation in the European SERA project has been established.
30.11.2018

The Working Group for Seismic Risk was established to organize SAEE’s participation in the SERA project (Seismology and Earthquake Engineering Research Infrastructure Alliance for Europe). SERA is a European Union project under the Horizon 2020 program aimed at developing a seismic risk model for Europe. The goal is to estimate potential losses caused by earthquakes and to develop seismic hazard maps. SERA is a three-year project (2018–2020) involving researchers from most European countries. The SERA project organizers invited SAEE to participate on behalf of Serbia. To develop the seismic risk model, data on the building stock in Serbia must be collected, which will be part of SAEE’s activities within the SERA program. This will be done through a questionnaire sent to SAEE members and other available information. The work of the group will begin in December 2018 and conclude in 2020. SAEE members interested in joining this working group are invited to contact the coordinator, Dr. Svetlana Brzev, at svetlana.brzev@gmail.com.
