Members of SAEE—Dr Marko Marinković, Dr Nikola Blagojević, and Nemanja Krtinić—together with a team from ETH Zürich, Switzerland, visited Turkey to study the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquakes that struck southeastern Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023. The team visited 16 cities and several villages between March 16 and 21, gathering significant information about earthquake recovery efforts, as well as damages to residential buildings, hospitals, industrial facilities, bridges, and water reservoirs.
On Monday, May 29th, from 17:00 to 19:30, an online seminar was held during which members of SUZI and the ETH team presented their observations regarding the consequences of these earthquakes.
Attached is the detailed seminar program along with the biographies of the speakers. Prof. Dr Božidar Stojadinović from ETH Zürich, and a member of the SUZI Board of Directors, was the seminar moderator. In addition to the team members, colleagues from Turkey (Dr Şerife Özata), Switzerland (Dr Laurentiu Danciu), and Germany (Prof. Dr Christoph Butenweg) also participated in the seminar.
