Area of work

The Committee for Seismic Risk focuses on educating SAEE members about seismic risk, particularly regarding the methodology and process of risk assessment for infrastructure in Serbia. It is important that SUZI members become familiar with the global state of seismic risk assessment, as well as existing platforms used worldwide that could potentially be applied in Serbia. This committee evolved from the SAEE Seismic Risk Working Group, which was established in 2018 to participate in the European SERA project (HORIZON 2020). The working group was active from its inception, holding several meetings and organizing a SERA workshop on seismic risk in the Balkans on June 13-14, 2019.

Activities

Activities within the SERA project continued into 2020. SAEE represents Serbia in this project and provides information regarding the building stock in Serbia, as well as the characteristics of various building typologies relevant for seismic risk assessment.
