Area of work

The Committee for Education is responsible for selecting topics and speakers related to the educational activities of SAEE, such as lectures, round tables, seminars, workshops, short courses, and similar events. The topics of these activities should be current and relevant to the majority of SAEE members and aligned with the multidisciplinary nature of the Association’s membership. The following topics are of particular importance for the technical education of SAEE members: Fundamentals of Seismology; Basics of Earthquake Engineering (for civil engineers / for other professions); Seismic Analysis of Structures according to EC 8; Application of Earthquake Engineering in the Design of Concrete / Steel / Masonry / Timber Structures with Reference to EC 8 (Part 1); Application of Earthquake Engineering in Bridge Design; Assessment of Seismic Resistance of Existing Buildings according to EC 8 (Part 3); Strengthening of Existing Buildings according to EC 8 (Part 3).
